Parenting Support
Practical guidance for navigating parenting challenges with confidence
I offer both individual parenting consultations and parenting classes, drawing from over two decades of professional experience and more than 20 years of parenting myself. My work is influenced by Dr. Becky Kennedy, Dr. Dan Siegel, and Love and Logic™, and I integrate principles from each into a practical, easy-to-understand approach.
Individual Parenting Consultations
Parenting consultations are one-on-one sessions focused on your specific family needs. These can take place in my Leawood office or by phone. Together, we’ll talk through challenges you’re facing and develop strategies that feel realistic and supportive for your family.
Parenting Group Courses
Parenting classes are skill-based and educational, designed to give parents tools they can use right away. Topics include:
Building connection with your child
Avoiding power struggles
Supporting kids in making decisions
Staying calm during challenging moments
Classes may be offered as:
A six-week course, meeting once a week for two hours
A one- or two-hour workshop, offered as a single session
Classes can be hosted at your location, and custom programs are available for schools, organizations, or parent groups. Pricing varies based on curriculum and travel time.
Family Therapy
Support for families working through challenges together
Family therapy focuses on the family as a whole, offering a space where parents and children can work together to improve communication, strengthen relationships, and navigate challenges as a unit.
In family therapy sessions, we look at patterns, dynamics, and stressors impacting the family system. My role is to help families better understand one another, build emotional regulation skills, and move toward healthier ways of interacting.
Family therapy may be helpful when families are experiencing:
Ongoing conflict or communication challenges
Transitions or changes within the family
Stress related to anxiety, ADHD, or neurodivergence
Parenting disagreements or co-parenting challenges
Sessions are collaborative and supportive, with the goal of helping families feel more connected and better equipped to navigate challenges together.
